Network: Tennessee STEM Innovation Network

Purpose: The plan was developed to endure Tennessee will have the competitive and skilled workforce it needs to prosper in a STEM-driven economy. This strategic plan provides state, regional and local policy leaders and STEM stakeholders clear direction on aligning STEM policies, practices and partners – from K-12, higher education and business – to cultivate, attract and retain STEM-capable talent.

Usage: The plan has guided the state’s implementation of STEM education.

Impacts: The plan has influenced the STEM policies and practices across the state and provides a unifying language for discussing STEM.

Prior research or grounding: The strategic plan is based on national and Tennessee data regarding the need for STEM education, Tennessee workforce needs, and the quality of STEM education in Tennessee.
