States also commonly bring key stakeholders together to create deep, multi-year strategic plans for STEM. Below, we've shared three sample state STEM plans.

    Created by the Governor’s Advisory Council for Excellence in STEM (ACES), this document provides a roadmap for a “coordinated STEM education network providing the workforce pipeline essential to the future of Alabama’s economy”.  This resource is excellent for states who are at the beginning of creating state-wide supports for STEM. - Download here

STEM/STEAM School Designation Models and Rubrics

Many states offer a pathway in law for the designation of schools as a "STEM schools" or "STEAM schools." Across states, the rules and reference materials vary significantly. On a close reading, however, many similar themes emerge. Below, the STEMx network has collected links to the policies and procedures for STEM designation across three states.
